i set up the maven build for protocol buffers and it looks like ted is not happy with my work. :-( seriously though, i wish he had a comments section so i could get a bit more detail about whether his gripe is with how protocol buffers are built or with maven itself. if he's unhappy with maven, +1 to that. (yes, i get annoyed with it too.) otherwise, i'd love to get some feedback on how to improve the build from both ted an everyone else.
no idea what i'm talking about? check out protobuf.

Hey, I noticed your page at https://maven-archetypes.dev.java.net/ when I was out looking for docs about using Velocity and Maven. The URL there, of course, is out-dated
My question is this, and though I know you're not in with the Maven project, but I sure could like to ask this of someone: Why the heck hasn't anyone documented how you can use Velocity templates with Maven?
I mean, the need for such documentation has been there, not since yesterday. I'm not the first to have noticed such an absence.
There are these gaps in Maven -- such as this gap where there is no documentation about this feature, and such as Maven's essential dependence on an internet connection, to even use Maven -- a dependency excused, no doubt, by people failing to realize that there are indeed normal situations in which one would not have a reliable internet connection, if any internet connection, available.
I find that it is obnoxious, but Maven seems to have enough promise (for now...) to keep with it.
